In 2015 we kicked off the Hoops 4 Life 3 on 3 basketball tournament with a Native American youth leadership conference. 2016’s conference will be held on November 11, 2016 at Life Church in life-church-mapOmaha, NE.  Last year’s conference and this year’s conference will be attended by Native American youth from the Omaha Public Schools NICE (Native Indigenous Centered Education) program and youth from surrounding reservations that will be also attending the Hoops 4 Life 3 on 3 basketball tournament on November 12, 2016. Presentation topics will include “Increasing protective factors with traditional Native culture and values” by Steve Tamayo and anti-bullying workshop by Choctaw Nation-member and basketball slam-dunk phenom Kenny Dobbs along with other nationally know, culturally appropriate speakers.
